Green Fields

I live where the forest and prairie are intermixed. This once completely forested area was cleared to raise cattle. The crosstimbers -- from which I take the name of my blog is a forest of post oak, blackjack oak, hickory, cedar and other trees that are not big but may be up to 400 years old... For a tree, given our extremely variable weather (depending on the whim of mother nature), that is quite an accomplishment.
