A poisonous relative of the tomato.
Lovely detail and color. The pieces inside almost look like little bananas.

Its funny that often the most poisonous is the most luxurious, these purple nightshades have a beautiful colour, and the family of plants they are from include the most useful (like potatoes & tomatoes) to the most deadly (thorn apple & deadly nightshade) - I think they are my favorite plant family.

@Richard_Irwin: Richard, your comment is spot on! I would have some trouble choosing between this plant family and the legumes however. The variety of configurations and unusual plants in the legumes has always astounded me.
