This plant blooms prolifically in the summer. A tea may be made from the leaves.

A brilliant close up of this beautiful flower, is this the same plant that produces bergamot oil?

@MaryB: That's a very good question, Mary. There is also a citrus that is called bergamot... I think that is where the oil is obtained. I "lifted" this from a web site -- Its aromatic smell, reminiscent of the bergamot orange (Citrus bergamia), gives bergamot its name. (http://www.herbs2000.com/herbs/herbs_oswego_tea.htm)
