The wild hyacinth grows from a bulb and produces these flowers.
A beautiful wildflower, Earnest. I'm wondering if they are as fragrant as the more common hybridized variety we see in spring?

@Ron: Unlike most flowers that I've sniffed, I can't recall a fragrance in these... I use my nose quite a bit when hunting wildflowers as well as my eyes and I just forgot to test this one. (No -- my nose isn't that big! - :-))
These are backlit in low sunlight and probably not best displayed and of course they aren't even close to the domesticated plant in flower size.
First time I've seen a wild hyacinth, a nice shot of this really pretty flower.

@vu@granby - Wolfgang: These grow in open meadows and within sight of the forest... but not under the canopy.
