The redbud tree in bloom is best viewed from a distance but sometimes it's interesting to see what those little flowers really look like. This tree forms an under story in the oaks and in the valleys and moister areas grows profusely.
Such a beautiful color, nice shot.

@Sandrine: Thanks, Sandrine.
Great shot of one of my favorite trees. I missed getting any shots of the redbuds and dogwoods down here, but the wildflowers are almost at their peak. I'll be taking a road trip tomorrow towards Austin to try and get a lot of pix.

@Eric Fry: Living in Houston was a very interesting experience. The leaves on the big tree in our front yard would fall with a thud, and a week later when I was raking them up, here came the new ones.... It has to be hard to catch the redbuds and other blooming trees just right. I look forward to your photos.
Such a delicate tint of color, lovely. Good composure and dof.

@Mike: Thanks, Mike.
Nice, but could it be that you cropped a bit too much? Somehow the clarity and sharpness that is your usual trademark is not here, maybe because of the limitations of am3?

@vu@granby - Wolfgang: Thanks for your constructive criticism. Yes, I could have cropped out a little differently but was interested in the one bloom in the center of the photo. The "wide" shots on Aminus3 are always produced in 800x600 format. The secret to getting a sharp photo posted is to reduce yours to that size before you sharpen and process. Unfortunately a large format photo is softened considerably when posting due to the resizing... It took a while for me to figure that out... The "tall" shots are a different format too. In any case, maybe the new offerings of Aminius3 membership can alleviate the problem as photos can be posted without compression and resizing... I doubt I'll take advantage of that as I'm not a professional.. Just a guy with a camera. I might join up just to thank Aminus3 for an opportunity to let others see what I do...
Nice shot, a very evocative and sensuous flower

@Peter Miller: Hmmm... you know, you're exactly correct.. I hadn't looked at it that way.
Great details on this shot. Congratulations for this macro.

@Calusarus: Thank you kindly.
You are right, these trees do deserve closer scrutiny and this blossom is a delight when seen like this. I like the way they fill the frame here.

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks, Ronnie. I was astonished when I took a walk two days later and they were even more glorious after two days of heavy rain... alas, the plum tree blossoms didn't fare too well.
I like the selective focus. I hadn't seen the flowers up close before. Nice.

@Anita: The redbud is a legume, like the pea... and the legumes take some very interesting forms.
Quite an evocative and delicate picture. I love the subtle colours!

@standley: Thanks very much, Standley.
This is beautiful! Love the soft colours and focusing!

Like a shaded-off peinture !

@Marie-Hélène: Thank you.
The sharpening gave it an interesting texture... almost like a frosted glass filter. Beautiful image Earnest... as all your flower shots are.
