This vine is our native honeysuckle. It is evergreen in our area and can form huge drapes on fences that are covered with these orange-red blooms. It is much preferred to the Japanese Honeysuckle which is a very invasive "weed" in some areas. (I still love the fragrance though.) Rather than crop this photo I tried to show the vining properties here on one I found in a grove of small trees.
great image

I planted one of these lovely natives by a fence and it is just starting to bloom. A Japanese Honeysuckle grows near it which I cut back several times a year. Like you, I enjoy the fragrance of the Japanese one, but, it grows all over our woods and meadows.

@Anita: When we first moved back "home" I found one growing just off my property in the woods... Somehow it ended up in my backyard and the three pieces I transplanted are beginning to show off very well. The one in the photo is actually in the woods though and on the way I saw in an inaccessible area a HUGE plant that was at least eight feet high and probably twenty feet wide growing on a fence... It was covered with a profusion of red blossoms that was stunning.
Excellent composition, Earnest. The flowers really pop from the green, georgous color!
It's an excellent image Earnest, and the light is extremely good. I've planted Honeysuckle in my garden, just hope it takes this year.

@Observing: The ones I moved from the woods just sat there for about two years but now they are beginning to take off...
Beautiful shot Earnest - just looking through the rest of your shots and it makes me wish our flowers were in bloom up here in the great white north.

@Bill Ault: I know you have some great wildflowers up there and some different ones than we see here too. I look forward to seeing some photos!
Wow . . this brilliant shot looks like mid-summer to me . . I want some of that strong sunshine and the smell of honeysuckle!

@Ronnie 2¢: Summer is a ways down the road yet and yes, it gets very bright then... sunglasses really come in handy.
Superb shot. I love the colours!
