This is one of the Monarch caterpillar's favorite foods. I once raised six butterflies on the leaves of this wildflower in a shoe box when I was a boy... and when they ended metamorphosis, they were absolutely beautiful!

Great detail on the flowers, Earnest. I like my neighbor's milkweed, as it draw all sorts of insects for me to shoot!

@vu@granby - Wolfgang: I wish I could but the only denizen I've managed to catch on these flowers was a spider... :-)
No wonder the butterflies love this plant. It is so colorful and beautiful.
