Yarrow is a perennial and almost always pure white (in my area) so I decided to go looking for the unusual violet-flowered plant that I had photographed two years before. To my delight it was still there! This is a detail of the florescence. Some of the texture is due to over-sharpening for presentation in this format. North Americans should easily be able to locate one of these plants as it is distributed throughout North America. More information here: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=ACMI2
Thanks for the comments and helpful hints. Most of my photos are from the woods and of nature. I hope you enjoy them.
These full-frame shots really work well. The plant looks so vigorous . . almost unstoppable!

@Ronnie 2¢: Since they are a perennial distributed throughout North America, I'd say they are pretty unstoppable... I planted some of the domesticated ones that have bright colors (relatively new to the market) last year and this year they are still barely an inch tall... must be something about the soil in my flowerbeds.
They are beautiful flowers, well done!

@Observing: Thanks, Mike.
That over-sharpening really gives it a painterly effect... Really beautiful, Earnest! I love how the whole frame is filled to bursting with these flowers.
