Common Yarrow Detail - Violet

Posted by Earnest (Oklahoma, United States) on 13 June 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Yarrow is a perennial and almost always pure white (in my area) so I decided to go looking for the unusual violet-flowered plant that I had photographed two years before. To my delight it was still there! This is a detail of the florescence. Some of the texture is due to over-sharpening for presentation in this format. North Americans should easily be able to locate one of these plants as it is distributed throughout North America. More information here: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=ACMI2

I hope you enjoyed the viewing... Have a great day!
