Very nice again! Last year on my trip around the Gaspe peninsula I tried a little different approach by using the zoom of my camera (12X optical) to the fullest, standing away a little over 3 feet. This gave me a nice blurred background, as you can see here. The photo is a bit small, but you can see anyway.

@vu@granby - Wolfgang: I see what you mean. I too would like to experiment with that setting. When I have the opportunity I'm fearful of getting no shat at all as compared to my tried and true macro settings... I have tried it and have been somewhat upset with the lack of detail in the subject and the softening that occurs... You have man photos to look through and I need to remember to peruse your site... I am a slow learner and have just barely come to the realization that your blog here on Aminus3 is a collaborative effort -- :-))

It's true that in that particular photo we don't see too many details, but it is mostly because the picture is fairly small and not of the higest jpg quality, for the sake of faster loading... I used the same technique here and here, the photos are bigger and you will see they don't have the slightest lack of details. When I watch them full screen they are good enough to see the scales on the butterfly wings for example.

I agree with your comment. Getting down low worked well for you in this photo. The Daisy Fleabane seems to have larger flowers than the Common or Philadelphia Fleabane I see around my part of the world.
