This is another of a series when I got down into the wildflowers to photograph them. The unprocessed photo is actually much brighter than this but I have been enjoying the results of similar processing as my desktop background for some time. The little white stars in the background are doll's daisies.
striking colors, very nice

Nice perspective on the Gaillardia. They're one of my favorites, as they're the only spring wildflower that lasts through the whole summer down here.

@Eric Fry: Up here they tend to seed out in mid summer and reappear in the fall.
I love the colors here, Earnest. Nice processing!

Beautiful rich colors, but I think a little more light could be more suitable.

Ah.. great colors Earnest. It looks very slightly underexposed, but this has deepend the colors which is my preference. The green background is also good .

When I was the landscaper at Deerwood Golf Club (the place Tin Cup was filmed), I had these planted in various spots along the course. They're incredibly drought resistant, and if you give them a little bit of fertilizer, they go wild with growth and blooms.

@Eric Fry: If there is anything I need, it's landscaping tips -- like how to landscape with zero cost... :-)) I have some of these in my wildflower bed and as you said, they perform throughout the year with care. Some of the plants out there in that bed reputedly come from the progeny of the Lewis and Clark expedition -- My sister brought some seeds from Monticello after touring there... They are a bit more robust than our wild version.
