It is a startling sight in a parched, dry landscape in the middle of summer when you happen upon a rock covered with yellow flowers. This photo was taken on a rainy day when the rock on which this plant is growing was covered with a puddle... I can't be specific about the identification of this plant. (A type of sedum)
That is quite a juxtaposition there, Earnest! To see a desert succulent in what looks like a Houston area marshland is a real treat! Great photo, and good work at being in the right place at the right moment.

@Eric Fry: Glad you noticed the unusual setting... I run on to blooming stonecrop in very hot dry conditions quite often but this was pretty amazing....
The plant is really enhanced by that pool of water, very well framed.

I love sedums. They are so colorful and succulent looking. No pun intended. Lovely capture beside the water.
