You Can't Go Home Again - 1

Centennial Mural, Drumright, Oklahoma. This is the Oklahoma Centennial Mural in Drumright, Oklahoma where I grew up... 2007 was the centennial year and it is often said, you can't go home again --- but I did. Drumright was once an oil boomtown with big ideas and lots of action. If you grew up there you could never quite escape the influence of black gold....

Great shot Earnest. Boy can I relate! I still live outside of Humble, TX the home of Humble oil company which later became Exxon oil. Most of oil wells are gone but the influence of that era remain.

@Barry: Barry I was a frequent visitor to Exxon (one or two of their many complexes) in Humble... It was always my wish to escape any association with oil fields or oil companies... just couldn't do it...Though my role was just as technical support in computers. (When I was near Humble I used to go to that restaurant where they threw rolls at you. -- always filling.)

@standley: Well it was a big megapixel photo that I cropped purposely this way... I just couldn't get high enough to get rid of the street lamp.

Hi Earnest.. The restaurant is the Potato Patch. It is still there-still great-and they still throw rolls!

I knew you were from Oklahoma. Azaleas in Muskogee right? Grand Lake? Ice storm last year? I was certain I was beginning to recognize some of the areas you shot. All your photos are really wonderful.
