You Can't Go Home Again - 9 (The End)

Posted by Earnest (Oklahoma, United States) on 23 July 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

This is a photo of the baseball field in Drumright, Oklahoma, where I played baseball as a boy some fifty years (plus) in the past. It has changed not at all. As I stood looking out on that field where I had stood so often and in every baseball position save catcher and first baseman, I was flooded with memories of a wonderful boyhood, of my fellow players chattering to me when I was on the pitchers mound, of sharing a snow cone with a pretty girl under the bleachers, and of sunny days and bright futures...

I suppose this was my own personal Field of Dreams!

Though I'm not a baseball watcher, I loved to play and I continued the tradition with my own sons and I did a little piece about that here..(there are after all some good lessons to be had on the baseball field) If you have nothing else to do, perhaps you'll enjoy the read... http://simplymemory.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

I hope you enjoyed the viewing... Have a great day!
