This is an example of a small group of elderberry flowers. They can be huge groups of white that gleam in the sun... Elderberries make some great jelly and wine... Caution though - there are two types of elderberry and one is not at all edible...

Another lovely photo! I agree with Betty. Do you make elderberry wine and/or jam? I made some mulberry jam this year--not bad.

@Anita: I went out last year and picked a bunch of elderberries and my wife made some elderberry jelly. It's really a mess to prepare because each berry has a (big) seed and these and the skins have to be strained out... It paid off as the taste was wonderful as was the color (you would have never guessed by tasting the unsweetened product - which I would class as horrible.) Anyway, we're going to stick with the plentiful blackberry or dewberry from now on as it can be easily picked right on our property and is delicious and plentiful.
