These white spires appear suddenly near streams and under the forest canopy and can be quite showy.
Those are absolutely gorgeous, Earnest! I wish we had a species of Penstemon that would grow down here ( There is one sp., but it is very rare, and usually found in very difficult to reach places)

@Eric Fry: It seems to pop up here at a certain time in the spring and only for a week or two... always deep in the forest.
I just love this photo, Earnest... the plant is absolutely beautiful and you captured it so well. Wonderful light and DOF!

@Observing: This was about one quarter mile from my home near a stream in the woods.
You are a master at capturing the pure white against the green background. Another beauty Earnest. Love it.
