Oak Leaf Gall

This is not pretty but is colorful and vaguely interesting. Galls are caused by any number of insects and generally aren't harmful to trees though they may be very ugly. These remarkably colorful galls were found on a post oak leaf - a type of white oak. Creatures that create galls apparently number in the thousands. You can google it if you want more info. I refrained from calling this gay balls for obvious reasons.

I hope you enjoyed the viewing... Have a great day!
