bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaSuperb colour! The silhouettes are so strong against that sky...your experiment is a success! 19 Feb 2009 5:26am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomIt's ok - spectacular. Marvelous colors. 19 Feb 2009 7:19am Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomLove the bands and swathes of colour in this 19 Feb 2009 9:08am Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesLove these vivid colors, perfect with the silhouetted tree in the foreground! 19 Feb 2009 10:45am Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoWow ...what colors ...superb !! And light too ! 19 Feb 2009 11:56am Marion from Liberty Township, United Statesthis is spectacular! how did you do that? These colors are out-of-this world fantastic!!!! LLLLOOOOOVVVVEE it :) 19 Feb 2009 2:50pm @Marion: I've been following Eric Fry's HDR work and decided to start some fiddling with that. The colors are not due to saturation tweaks so much as a combination of contrived exposures and a recombination of the results. This is not a true HDR. Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesI first thought your title was referring to an "okay" morning, when this is actually stunning with the rich colors afforded you. The leafless tree is a nice accent. 19 Feb 2009 2:51pm Tony Duque from Raleigh, United StatesWow!... what a wonderful shot, Earnest! Your title?... excruciating understatement. Some may claim this picture has benefited from post-processing (say... a little saturation tweak), but I know (or at least strongly suspect) differently: sunrises (or sunsets) can absolutely be that naturally and profoundly colorful. Thanks for sharing your terrific picture!! 19 Feb 2009 3:00pm @Tony Duque: Great to get a comment form the "sky" expert. Actually these colors are a bit saturated due to a sort of "contrived" HDR experiment. No tweaking of saturation but definitely of the exposure and lighting. Normally like you I try to show the sky as it actually appears but I liked the result of my little experiment. bm from Budapest, Hungarystunning colors - did you to any post-processing or were these the natural colors? either way, the result is fantastic. 19 Feb 2009 3:00pm @bm: This involved a number of replications of the photo using the gamma slider only then a recombination of the six or seven I did at a certain percentage then application of a very little contrast and balancing... I just liked the result though it really is much more colorful than the original. vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Québec, CanadaYes, a prairie morning indeed! Sometimes we get lucky as well, and as my house faces east I get to see them.... like here and here! 19 Feb 2009 3:27pm Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaBeautiful vivid colors.
