Indigo Bunting 1

Not sharp but it's the color that matters.... These little birds were nesting near a pond and flying around through the trees like acrobats. -- and yes, bluer than a bluebird.

@Marion: I hope to get a better shot soon -- they are about as common as the yellow finch but easy to hear and hard to see. The entire bird is that blue color except for the face and wings.

I just love these little birds... when we fed the birds (pre-black bears) these little birds, the yellow finches, cardinals, etc. really made it colorful under the apple tree. You really captured a beautiful blue!

@Betty: I thought they were relatively rare around here until I learned the song... They're everywhere like the yellow finches and like the yellow finches -- hard to see in the wild.
