Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaWhat a pretty little guy. Excellent capture Earnest. 11 Aug 2009 6:11am @donyayevahsh: Thank you very much for the compliment. I visited your web pages. It is an excellent source of information. Unfortunately the translations available from your language to mine are limited and poor so I was barely able to navigate around and see some of the articles and comments. In any case you have cited some great nature resources and should be congratulated. Keep up the good work! Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoFlowers take a different place following photos, I think that you could put these photos on a wall side by side and it would be sueprb ," Buttonbush series"! 11 Aug 2009 9:07am @Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thank you, Marie-Hélène, I may do that soon at home. What pretty markings. I can't believe you know all these bflies and moths, too, as well as most of the flora you come across. 12 Aug 2009 3:32am @Candace: Among the few things our government has gotten right starting with the funding of the world wide web, is making available on that network some great research resources that I use to identify insects and plants. My starting point is the USDA site and the USGS. I use the subsites here for identification and many states and universities provide these (and sometimes better) resources for regional areas: Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesGreat detail captured on the moth and I love the close-up on the buttonbush. Thanks for your reference you provided Candace. 13 Aug 2009 12:49pm @Steven: Thanks for the comment and you are quite welcome to the references! Linda from Riga/Sigulda, Latvialooks like he is on a seperate little planet like from the little prins:) 13 Aug 2009 3:32pm Candace from Phoenix, AZ, United StatesYes, thank you. A lot more to being a photog than clicking the shutter, huh? 14 Aug 2009 5:20am @Candace: Yeah, in most cases using standard names is much better than my categorizations such as that funny looking moth with orange wings and polka dots on it..... Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesVery nice image. I like the contrast in colors. 31 Aug 2009 4:58pm |
