oh. now i really get envious of all the different butterflys you have there - never seen such green one. very lovely. would love to see a photo of his full wingspan, if you were lucky to get one:).

@Linda: Catching the sulphurs with wings open is rare in my location. This particular one preferred to flit around rather than land and this was my only opportunity to get a photo. When not backlit the wings are a greenish yellow, thus the name sulphur. (I didn't get this one with its wings open.)
I was just sitting here thinking how hard it is to get the color of these guys just right and saw Marilla's comment. They do tend to look green if the lighting is just so. I tend to get them too light and wash them out a bit. This is lovely, the way you can see the sections of the wings folded on top of each other.
