I was thinking of you today when again, for 100th time , I found only Monarch butterfly :((((( 29 Aug 2009 7:05pm @MARIANA: It is only a matter of location, Mariana. I in turn cannot post any interesting street or park scenes because they just aren't available. The Monarchs should soon begin their migration across our state and then I will be able to look into the sky and see them every day for a month or so. There are a few around and they are still very pretty butterflies and I take pictures. During years of heavy migration they even show up here on the weather radar! flyingwind风飞扬 from Bridgetown, BarbadosI'm afraid if the branch will break! ^_^ Bravo! 29 Aug 2009 10:40pm @flyingwind风飞扬: Thanks! Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaGreat capture Ernest. Great detail....I agree, five stars. 29 Aug 2009 11:45pm Candace from Phoenix, AZ, United StatesHe's every bit as handsome as yesterday's dragonfly. Did you come upon another bush filled with dragonflies :) 30 Aug 2009 2:21am @Candace: Since the buttonbush grew near the water, the next natural progression was to dragonflies as I noticed they were also present and very colorful. I like these ancient insects too... viscous but beautiful. Nadia Olisa from Canberra, Australiaooh my favourite! you captured her perfectly (yes her because she's simply so beautiful i'm claiming it's a her :) ) great blue too! :) 30 Aug 2009 3:23am @Nadia Olisa: Thanks very much. I'm sure she would appreciate your admiration! Sidney from Manila, PhilippinesNice capture ! he stands out well against the blurred background. 30 Aug 2009 3:55am @Sidney: Thanks for the comment, Sidney. I visited your blog and found it to be extremely interesting and well written in clear language -- I'll visit again soon and read more about the Philippines... a country all of us Americans should know better. lucid from Toronto, CanadaThe Importance of Being Earnest! :) Okay, I'm sure someone's already referenced that in previous comments, but it's the first I've used it. It's a wonderful shot, so much detail- I love the spider web on the twig! The insect almost looks unreal, it's so shiny! 30 Aug 2009 4:52am @lucid: Unfortunately not many girls were that set on marrying a guy named Earnest in my neck of the woods -- I think that was probably for the best too.. :)) Thanks for the comment. Marilla from Turku, FinlandGreat macro, Earnest! It looks like it has a black helmet... :) 30 Aug 2009 5:30pm Dawn from Maryland, United StatesWhat a great macro shot!! I can't believe I missed this one! Sorry! : ) 30 Aug 2009 10:14pm @Dawn: Thanks much! |
