Michael from Shell village, United KingdomTop marks for this one Earnest, at least 5 stars ! This image has strangely enough a Japanese look about it, perhaps it's the blossoms or the DOF. 31 Oct 2009 5:15am @Michael: The ground here is variable with sandstone outcrops in places and deep soil in others. Sometimes when an oak is trying to grow in a difficult spot it will develop branches like this and struggle to keep leaves in place. I was lucky this butterfly chose such a tree to light on. flyingwind风飞扬 from Bridgetown, BarbadosLoooooooove it very much! Looks like Chinese traditional painting!!! Very great and 5*!!! 31 Oct 2009 5:44am Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaMichael took the words right out of my mouth. It really does have a Japanese or Chinese look to it. Beautiful. 31 Oct 2009 5:49am martie from Mojave Desert, United StatesYes - it DOES have a Japanese feel to it. I love the background and this beauty looks so regal. 31 Oct 2009 6:06am Candace from Phoenix, AZ, United StatesI agree, very Asian look, it looks like a painting, it's just pretty!!!!!! 31 Oct 2009 8:46am Marilla from Turku, FinlandBright and beautiful! You have really brought the summer back! 31 Oct 2009 8:48am Giovanni from Milan, Italywonderful composition Earnest!! Just wondering what it would be like without the leaf on the branch it is lighting upon, as it seems a little off color from everything else. a tiny bit distracting. but not a big deal...I do love this capture...I'd love it on my wall Earnest :) 31 Oct 2009 11:12am @Mary: Hi, Mary -- I agree and thanks for the suggestion as the leaf can be removed. I haven't decided whether it is a good addition or not... The photo is just as I took it.
